Sharing Survivor’s Stories
This is one of our new projects this year under the sexual reproductive health program and we focus on menstrual health in schools and communities for both women and girls. The emphasis for girls is how they can stay clean during menstruation, while parents on the other hand understand their role in providing sanitary pads to their school-going girls. With the existing gap of no clean, eco-friendly, affordable and healthy sanitary product for girls and women to use during menstruation, WORI started to produce re-usable menstrual pads. As we sell out the pads in communities the funds we get go back to buy the materials for further production. Additionally the proceeds from the pads production will be used to cater for running costs of office as well as staff allowances.
