WORI welcomes highly motivated individuals with an interest in women’s rights, sexual and reproductive health, women’s economic empowerment to support our work through an internship.
Interning at WORI will expose you to the challenging and rewarding experience of working at a women-led grassroots human rights NGO in eastern Uganda. You will gain first-hand experience of how projects are implemented and how a grassroots NGO runs.
We offer internships throughout the year, and all interns are based in our office in Jinja, Uganda. Interns work full-time alongside WORI’s permanent staff, and will have the opportunity to make field visits and see first-hand the impact of our projects. Interns can work with us on existing projects, but we also welcome ideas for new initiatives of particular interest and relevance to the intern’s skills and background, as long as they share our core aims of advocating for women’s rights, sexual and reproductive health and an end to violence against vulnerable populations.
Please see the links below for further information on what your internship could involve and how to apply to be a WORI intern. You can also visit our volunteering website for information on preparing for your stay, living in Jina, and insights from previous interns and volunteers.
We welcome all interested applicants and very much look forward to hearing from you!
